With the continued rise in the price of electricity and an environment that is increasingly affected by our actions, energy efficiency has never mattered so much. We can also contribute, for example when buying an appliance.
These carry the well-known energetic label, a very important sticker that indicates the level of energy efficiency of the apparatus. All the appliances take it from the TV to the vacuum cleaner robot, from the refrigerator to the ironing center. And, the problem is that many times, out of care, distrust, or ignorance, we do not give it the importance it deserves.
ENERGETIC EFFICIENCY AND ENERGETIC LABEL
The energy label indicates the energy consumption (and water, if any) of the appliance. It is what is known as energy efficiency. In addition, it provides us with quick information on its main features.
The energy label must always be in a visible place. And it is important to know it, not only because it affects the environment, but because it also affects our pocket, since the lower energy consumption will be the bill of light (and water).
The information provided by the energy label varies from one appliance to another. Indicates different data according to its performance and function. The same data is not required for a dishwasher as for a vacuum cleaner robot or for a dishwasher than for an ironing center.
IMPORTANCE OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN APPLIANCES
When we buy a home appliance, we usually look more at the price than the energy label. The devices with the highest energy efficiency category are always more expensive, so we buy one of the lowest category thinking that we save money. But in reality it is a mistake since, in reality, in the long term, for example, a ironing center with a higher energy efficiency will represent a saving greater than one with a lower category.
For example, an A +++ washing machine can save up to € 24 a year compared to a five-year old model. Compared to a 15-year-old model, the savings skyrocket to 60 € per year. If we look at the case of the refrigerators, simply increasing in the classification of energy efficiency can mean a saving of € 90 per year. Multiplied by the time that we can last that appliance, is already greatly amortized.
These quantities, multiplied by thousands of sales, make large companies compete with each other for being the first to offer energy efficient products. In this way, simply with our attitude we can lead to a change. So the energy efficiency in the household appliances takes on a new relevance.
Luckily, this seems to be the dominant trend in the market and we are becoming aware of the importance of acquiring really efficient appliances. For environmental reasons, of course, but also above all, for economic reasons.
Let’s not forget that electricity rates have been rising in recent years, and a good way to reduce spending is to buy more efficient appliances.
